Final Blog for Camp 2008

Though most of the kids and counselors were a little sad to see camp end, all were excited about going home to sleep in their own beds and see their families even their brothers and sisters. I am sure by now, you have heard many stories of their camp experiences, from the camp food, to zip line, to swimming pool battles , to group games (Purple Camp Champs),to tapehead and counselors tapehead ( aka Super-sized Tapehead) and the worship services. And as has been our camp tradition at Camp Baldwin we finished camp with our 100 foot slip and slide. ( see Wednesday Photos)
On behalf of the counselors I would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend this time with your children. It was truly a blessing getting to know each of them a little better.
Our final blog was delayed due to technical issues at Camp Baldwin.

Tape Head and Talent

After a great early morning breakfast, we spent some time in celebration of Jesus! Our superhero of the day was Joseph. We were challenged to have superhero character! In crafts we made picture frames with popsicle sticks. There were millions of buttons!!!
The red team won the tennis ball launch, but purple, green, and orange are giving their best.
The afternoon was full of hiking, water slides, paddle boats, canoes, swimming, zip line, and lots of fun! It's so hard to decide what to do!
After worship tonight, the students joined in the fun of the future famous game of Tape Head! (This may be viewed below!) The annual talent show was hosted by Mrs. Beth! The counselors were very proud of all the talent that was shown here tonight! It was another great day at camp!

Monday at Camp

After a great breakfast we all celebrated in the Chapel with songs, worship and Bible Study time. Mrs. Beth talked about what it means to be a hero and how we can impact our world for Jesus. Our whole week is based on Matthew 5:16 - "Live in such a way that those around you will see the good things you do and glorify God." We had quiet time in our cabins and then went to crafts where we are done the most amazing craft activities. Each color squad got to design their own flag and also create their own super hero to display in the chapel. We're learning about the character of a hero, which is an awesome study. We also made wall plaques that we will get to paint on Wednesday. Our views of Wolf Bay really bring out our creative side.
During track time and free time we had a blast on the huge water slide into the lake, paddle boats, canoes, swimming, miniature golf, kickball, and the ropes course.
Our teams also competed in a game of water balloon sling shot where we tried to hit Mrs. Beth and the church bus for points!
Everyone is really having fun with the competitions between the red, purple, green and the orange squads! We can't wait to see how things go tomorrow.
God is awesome!
We hope all of our kid's will be equipped to make an impact on the world when we get back.

Signed,

Are We There Yet?

After a rainy start, gridlock on I-10 and a short stop for pizza at Cici's. We made it to Camp Baldwin in time to enjoy the beautiful sunset just outside our cabin door. (See Sunday photos)
